Basket:
Attached to the backboard, it consists of a metal rim 18" - 45,72 cm.- in diameter suspended 10' - 3.05 m.- from the floor , from which a 15-18" - 45-54 cm. - corded net hangs, and through which players attempt to throw the ball and points are scored.
A team’s basket is the one into which its players try to throw the ball. Each team shoots at the basket farthest from its bench in the first half. The teams change baskets for the second half.
Also used to refer a successful field goal .
